Short version: if you carry a Galaxy phone, you can now install Quenched straight from the Samsung Galaxy Store. It's the same water tracker we ship on Google Play, free to download, with the same Pro upgrade — and now your purchase goes through Samsung instead of Google.
Why a second Android store?
A lot of Quenched's Android users are on Samsung phones, and plenty of them live in the Galaxy Store — it's preinstalled, it's tied to their Samsung account, and on some devices it's the store that gets opened first. We'd rather meet people where they already are than ask them to go somewhere else for a water app.
It also helps in places where Google Play isn't the default, or where people prefer to keep purchases on their Samsung account. Either way, you now have a choice, and nothing about the app changes based on which one you pick.
What's the same
Everything that matters. The Galaxy Store build is compiled from the same code as the Google Play build:
- The free app is the whole app. One-tap logging, the smart daily goal, reminders, home screen widgets, and two-way Health Connect sync — all free, no account required.
- The same Pro upgrade. Trends and charts, thirty built-in beverages, custom drinks, caffeine tracking, and custom quick-add sizes — the same features, unlocked the same way.
- The same privacy. Your log stays on your phone. There's no Quenched account and no cloud on Android, and Health Connect data is stored and processed on-device by Android.
What's different
- Purchases go through Samsung. Pro on the Galaxy Store version is billed by Samsung's in-app purchase system, so it shows up on your Samsung account and follows Samsung's refund rules. Purchases are tied to the store you bought from, so stick with whichever store you installed from — an upgrade on one store can't be restored on the other.
- Ratings live on the Galaxy Store. The "rate Quenched" prompt in the Galaxy Store build opens the store listing instead of Google's in-app review sheet. If you like the app, a review there helps other Galaxy users find it.
That's it. Same icon, same water, same everything else.
A good fit for Galaxy phones
A couple of things Quenched already did that Samsung owners will get the most out of:
- Samsung Health, via Health Connect. Samsung Health shares water with Health Connect, so once you connect Quenched, the glass you log in Quenched can show up in Samsung Health and water logged there is counted toward your Quenched goal. Setup takes under a minute; here's the walkthrough.
- One UI widgets. Quenched's two Android widgets — a progress ring with a quick-add button, and a line chart of your recent days — sit on the One UI home screen like any other. Our widget guide covers the options.
- Any Galaxy running Android 10 or later. There's no Galaxy Watch app yet, so we won't pretend otherwise — the Apple Watch app is iPhone-only for now.
How to get it
- Open the Quenched listing on the Galaxy Store from your Galaxy phone, or open the Galaxy Store app and search for Quenched.
- Tap Install. It's free.
- Run through the short setup — weight, activity, and climate turn into a daily goal you can change any time — and log your first glass.
Already have Quenched from Google Play? You don't need to do anything. It's the same app, and it'll keep updating through Play as usual.
